Local Support for 4-H
Youth

:The 131st Cumberland Fair just completed another
year of exhibits, livestock shows, and carnival activities.
For 4-H youth, several local businesses assisted these
youth in completing another successful year by purchasing
the 4-Hers market animals. Cole Farms attended
the 4-H market animal auction on Wednesday, September
25 and came away the highest biddder on the grand
Champion baby beef steer owwned by Lynn Gallagher,
as well as the highly commended lamb owned by Grace
Stults of Windham.
Kimballs and Dubes Garage of Gray was
the highest bidder on a market hog owned by Greg Gallagher.
Spring Meadows Golf Course also purchased a market
hog owned by Tommy Grant of Gorham. Another market
hog buyer was Pizza Paddle of Gray. They purchased
Lynn Gallaghers hog. Rounding out the local
buyers for this years auction was Solid and
Sturdy Countertops of Gray. They purchased a market
lamb owned by Kendra Moreau of Durham.Thank you to
all the businesses that supported the 4-H youth in
their market animal endeavors.

4-Her named Grand Champion: This years
Grand champion Baby Beef Steer at the Cumberland fair
was Lynn Gallagher of Gray. Last year Lynn caught
the baby steer at the Fairs scramble and spent
the year raising it, showed it at this years
(131st) Cumberland Fair, and was named Grand Champion.
She earned a banner, which is also displayed at Cole
Farms, the business that purchased the steer.
