EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Equipment Operator/Truck Driver/Labor
The Town of Gray is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Equipment Operator/Truck Driver/Laborer. This position requires an "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License. The successful candidate shall be required to pass a drug/alcohol and physical exam. The candidate shall be insurable under the Town's insurance coverage and is a precondition of employment. Light equipment operation experience is required.

The successful candidate is required to reside within a 30-minute radius to the Town of Gray, Public Works Department. Some weekends and nights required. Employment applications are available at the Town Office and at the Public Works Facility. Accepting applications until the position is filled. Salary $11.25 per hour after 6 months.

Gray Code Enforcement hours change:
To better serve the citizens of Gray, the following schedule for the Gray Code Enforcement Officer shall take effect July 19, 2004.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon - in office by appointment only.
12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. - field inspections by appointment

Thursday
8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon - in office by appointment only
12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m. - field inspections by appointment

Friday
8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - in office by appointment only
11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - field inspections by appointment

Please note the turnaround times:

Processing time for inspections and permits will be as follows:
Processing period for building permits - 15 working days
Processing period for standard inspections - 24 hour prior notice
Processing period for certificate of occupancy - 48 hours prior to notice


The upstairs Gray Town Office will be CLOSED FOR LUNCH from:

12:30 - 1:15PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
12:30 - 1:45PM Thurday
11:30 - 12:15PM Friday

The above is due to staff changes and training. We will return to regular hours as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. Downstairs hours are not affected.

Help Wanted: Planning Board Minute-Taker

The Planning Board needs a person to take minutes at all Planning Board meetings. Meetings are normally held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. Please contact Town Manager, Rosemary Kulow, at the New Gloucester Town Hall, 385 Intervale Road, as soon as possible to obtain an employment application. SAD 15 News

Attention High School Fall Athletes

The fall season starts August 16th. Individual sports times are listed below. Practices are mandatory. A reminder that all required paperwork must be turned in to participate, including medical information form and a recent physical (within the last 2 years.) Also there is a $15 participation fee, payable to MSAD #15. Payments may be sent or brought to the athletic office at the high school.

Boys Soccer: 8-10 a.m. and 5-7 p.m.
Girls Soccer: 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Football: 7:30-10 a.m. and 2:30-5 p.m.
Field Hockey: 7:45-10:30 a.m.
Cross Country: 6 p.m.
Fall Cheering: 8-11 a.m.
Golf: 8 a.m. (August 26th)

Dunn School Tours
Bruce Beasley, principal at Dunn Elementary School is offering school tours to incoming third graders, or any other new students to Dunn School on Wednesday, August 8th. Students accompanied by an adult are welcome to attend any one of the tours at 9, 10, 11:00, or 1 on that day.

SAD #15 notice
MSAD #15 Board of Directors will not hold a meeting on Aug 18th as would be their regular schedule. They will hold one on August 4th at 7:00 PM. in Stimson Hall, Gray.

Starting in Sept. the meetings will begin at 6:30 PM. The Board meeting the first Wednesday of the month in Gray, at Stimson Hall, and the third Wednesday in New Gloucester at the Meetinghouse. All meetings are open to the public and the public is welcome to attend.
