Some old flames just won't go out, as Elyot and Amanda (Neil Stewart and Rachel Harker) see each other again, and sparks fly, in Noel Coward's classic comedy Private Lives

Noel Coward's "Private Lives" goes Public!
Some old flames just won't go out! You've heard of Hepburn & Tracy, Bogart & Bacall, Taylor & Burton ¦now meet Elyot & Amanda. Five years after their bitter divorce, it's love at first fight, when Elyot and Amanda fall in love with each other all over again - while honeymooning with their new spouses! Playwright Noel Coward reignites these old flames in his usual witty style, in this exceptional comedy about love, second chances and the often fine line between affection and exasperation.

Performances are May 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, Sat at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. A free post-show discussion will follow the Sunday May 9th performance. Tickets are $16 for adults and $14 for students and seniors. For tickets call 782-3200. There will be an Exclusive Performance on May 6th at 8pm, for any participants in the Governor's Conference on the Creative Economy.

Some of the work included from Foundations Classes will be Geometric Designs, Self-portraits, Collages, Color Projects, Masks, Pop Art, Prints, Oaxacan Animal Sculptures and Line Sculptures. Included from Drawing/Painting Classes are Surrealistic Drawings, Hand Drawing, Scratchboard, Watercolors and Still life Paintings.

The Sculpture classes will be showing clay works including Crazy Teapots, Sculpted Heads, Cylinder, platters, Pinch Pots Baskets, Vases and Fish. Other 3 dimensional work included will be Paper Mache Gargoyles and Gnome houses built from found natural materials. The art students have work very hard this year to have an outstanding exhibit.

The High School Chamber Choir will also be performing the following selections Now is the Month of May by Marley, A Welsh Lullaby by K. Lee Scott, Can't Help Falling in Love arranged by Roger Bronson and Finale from "Gondoliers" by Arthur Sullivan. Samantha Bishop will be preforming a number of classical arrangements on the key board.

This year the Fine Arts Boosters will be having their fourth annual Silent Auction. Included in the auction will be gift certificates and items collected from local merchants as well as artwork from Mrs. Morse and Ms. Brown. The auction has become a very popular event and is the major fund raiser for the Fine Arts Boosters. We hope to see you there supporting the art students and the silent auction.

Performance: 'Modern Man'
Move over Australopithicus and Homo erectus, it's time for Modern Man!
Just nominated for a MAC Award by the Manhattan Association of Clubs and Cabarets, L/A Arts is bringing everyone's favorite trio of aging boomers, Modern Man, to Lewiston on Thursday, May 13 for a wicked fun time!

Their slogan is "Bridging the gap between the Three Tenors and the Three Stooges," and it truly sums up their act. Rob Carlson, George Wurzbach, David Buskin, who make up Modern Man, lace their social commentary of the modern experience with a healthy dose of humor and great music.
Modern Man is performing on Thursday, May 13 at 7:30 pm at the Ramada Inn and Convention Center, 490 Pleasant Street, Lewiston. Tickets for Modern Man are $18 ($15 for kids, full-time students and seniors 60+) -- $2 more at the door. Reserve a table for the show, seats up to 12 for $180.
