CLT Announces Summer Theatre Workshop Production
Community Little Theatre is offering an exciting opportunity this summer to anyone in the community who has an interest in becoming involved in theater. In conjunction with the world premiere presentation of two original musical comedies on July 9 and 10, CLT will offer workshops and mentors, according to interest, to volunteers desiring to explore the various production aspects involved in putting together a show.

The two musical comedies are both written by Linda Britt, with music by Colin Britt, the same team that produced "Billionaire Vegans" and "Who's Running the School?" in the summer of 2003. "The Legend of Britt Collins (Names Changed to Protect the Innocent)" is a short one-act musical farce that will open the entertainment on both evenings. "Let Me Count the Ways (A Revenge Musical)" is a full-length musical that explores friendships and revenge fantasies among a group of separated and divorced women. Because these are brand new works, production staff members will have a unique opportunity to participate in building a show from the ground up.
Volunteers are welcome in all areas, but are particularly needed on the technical side: set design, decor, sound, lights, costumes, make-up, hair, and publicity. No previous experience is necessary. Anyone interested is encouraged to call Linda at 782-1559, or CLT at 783-0958.

Caitlin Watson making "Noise"
Caitlin Watson, one of our own Gray residents, is making her debut at Lewiston-Auburn's Community Little Theatre in "Noises Off" playing June 4-13 at Great Falls Performing Arts Center, Academy St., Auburn.
Caitlin will play Poppy Norton-Taylor in the British comedy by Michael Frayn. The play is actually a play within a play, a traditional sex farce 'Nothing On' and the backstage farce that develops during 'Nothing On's' final rehearsal and tour. And typical of British comedies, there will be a lot of chaos: doors opening and closing, actors rushing in and out, split second timing, lots of confusion, voices rising, trousers falling. The play is co-directed by Celeste Philippon and Christopher Scott.

Caitlin attended Gray-New Gloucester High School and is no stranger to theatre as she has appeared in several plays with the Patriot Players, the school's Drama Club. She has also appeared with the Parsem Players of the Sacopee Valley Drama Club in Parsonsfield (ME.) She studied at Columbia College in Chicago where she appeared in several student films.
Caitlin's mother, who is a successful local poet, got her interested in poetry. Caitlin says she writes prose mostly and her work tends to be more funny than profound. She is part of a four woman poetry group called Poets on the Halfshell. The group had a televised feature of their work in Massachusetts last July. Caitlin has received an invitation to join a poetry beat band, 'According to My Dream.'

Caitlin is hoping friends and family will come to see her on the boards at CLT this June. Tickets are $13 and $11 for seniors and full time students. Reservations may be made by calling 783-0958 or accessing the theatre's website at laclt.com.
