German Expressionist Prints On View At The Portland Museum Of Art
The Portland Museum of Art will present an exhibition of 85 masterworks of German Expressionist graphics from an important print collection amassed by David and Eva Bradford, summer residents of Center Lovell, Maine. On view for the first time, German Expressionist Graphics: The Bradford Collection offers a rare opportunity to examine the powerfully inventive character of the German Expressionist movement in provocative portraits, idyllic landscapes, and socially critical satires of German culture produced during the early 20th century.

German Expressionist Graphics: The Bradford Collection is on view from August 11 through October 24, 2004.

Benefit Concert: "3 feet up" of Yarmouth and "Potpourri" of Richmond have teamed up once again to present "A Helping Hand Benefit Concert" on July 31, at Royal River Park in Yarmouth from 2 to 6 p.m. Rain date is Aug. 1. These two acts recently contributed original songs to "Notes From Home", a compilation CD sent to the Maine soldiers in Iraq.

"A Helping Hand" is being held to assist Yarmouth resident Phyllis Nichols, who suffers from spina bifida, chiari malformation ( two serious central nervous system disorders) and myasthenia gravis (grave muscle weakness). Money being raised will go to special needs construction on her residence, medical and orthopedic supplies and other necessities. Donations and volunteers would be greatly appreciated, for more info call Victoria Hardy 846- 4324 or go to www.3feetup.com.

Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival
continues with two performances of "Ferdinand the Ball and other Fabulous Fiddle Tales" at Children's Wednesday, July 28th. Performances are at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. sharp.
Mad Agnes isn't really mad at all unless mad also means quirky, intelligent, warm insightful and humorous. Margo Hennebach, Adrienne Jones, and Mark Saunders simply make music that delights, incites, and heals. They do it with rich, heart-rending three-part harmonies, synergistic musicianship and clever songwriting that is at once familiar and yet completely unique.

A link back to that addictive sound of progressive/alternative flak groups like Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention. At Deertrees, 8 p.m. on July 29th.

Vaudeville's dead? No way: Nobody told Michael Menes, Alan Tacheny and Bruce McKenzie. They are a brand new wave of vaudevillians who are talented, hip, funny, amazing and totally cool. 8 pm on Friday, July 30th. Tickets are $14 for adults, $7 for children.

Dixieland jazz: Saturday, July 31st at 8 P.M. is the date for the annual appearance of New Orleans-inspired Dixieland jazz band New Black Eagles Jazz Band.

Anni Clark: Her folksy, bluesy, and sometimes witty performances delight audiences and critics alike. At 7 p.m. on August 1st she will record her first live concert CD at the idyllic setting of Deertrees Theatre and you can be there. Williams Broadcasting and Oxford Homes will present a pre-concert wine and cheese party at 6 p.m.

Tickets to all performances are available at the Cool Moose in Bridgton, Fare Share Co-Op in Norway, Books & Things in Bethel and at the Box Office. For reservations and further information please call Deertrees at 207-583-6747
