Caught at the Crossroads

The Annual USPS Food Drive was a complete success, thanks to the many donors who left food out for the carriers on Saturday, May 8.

Donated food was picked up by carriers, and brought to the Postal facilities, who in turn donated them to local food pantries.

Here, Gray Public Works crew led by Director Steve LaVallee, unloads cage after cage of collected food onto trucks, to be then delivered to the Gray Food Pantry. Over 2,700 pounds of food will be available to hungry people in Gray, according to Postmaster Nancy Clark.

"We just love doing the drive, and we love that the food stays in the local communities, in our case, Gray," Clark said. "One of our carriers came in on her day off to pick up food to help out her substitute," Clark said. "That's how much the carriers are committed to the drive. I want to thank the community for being so generous," Clark said.
