For all the freedoms we enjoy, for all the scarifices this generation and the ones before and after have made and will make, for all the suffering of war, and for the joy of safe return, I thank you, Veterans.

I silently thank you each time I open the door to this office of a free and open press, and today I thank you publicly, for without you, freedom would be a hollow echo of used to be.
