Tis the season…The political season

The Monument welcomes candidate submissions, which are placed on a
space-available basis. Each candidate is encouraged to send an article announcing candidacy, and another of his or her choice, either a platform article, a biographical article, etc. Letters to the editor are welcome.

The Monument’s political affiliation: As Editor, my political affiliation is Unenrolled. My main position is as an Editor who strives to present a balanced view of all the issues, and to advocate for citizen rights with their government. We are concerned with civil liberties, fairness in government and fairness of treatment toward citizens. We also take a strong stand as a government watchdog.

Neither Republican nor Democrat, Green, nor Independent, my main mission, through the paper, is to establish a relationship with citizens, government officials, and the communities which we serve that involves trust in reporting and accurate information- whatever the information's political content.

All candidate material, no matter the political affiliation, is welcome. Advertising must be paid prior to printing and must contain a disclaimer statement.
