Luncheon Card Party: Join us on November 3rd for games and chowder. Bring your favorite card games - we'll provide a delicious corn chowder and muffin lunch. The party is from 10 am - 2 pm at the Sacred Heart Church Hall, Main St, Yarmouth. There is a $5 donation to benefit Habitat for Humanity. For more information call 846-5584

Public supper: November 6th, 5 - 6 pm at the American Legion, 15 Lewiston Road, Gray. Beans, chop suey, cole slaw, hot dogs, brown and Italian breads, pies. Adults $5.50, children under 12 $2.50, children under 5 free.

Gray Extension News

The Gray Extension will meet November 3rd at 10:00 am at the Congregational Parish House on Brown Street. We will have as guests, the No. Yarmouth Extension. Our speaker will be from "Life-Flight", the emergency helicopter service based in Lewiston that serves the southern Main area. Gray members, this will be a "pot luck" luncheon, so come with your favorite dish. FMI, call 428-3893.

Holiday craft fair: Sponsored by Windham Athletic Boosters at the Windham High School, 406 Gray Road, Windham, Me., the fair will be held on Saturday November 6 and Sunday November 7, 2004 from 9 am - 3 pm. There will be over 80 crafters, refreshments, and door prizes.

Patriot Soccer Club Holds 2004 AGM
The Patriot Soccer Club will be holding their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 6:30pm at Androscoggin Bank in Gray, Maine. The purpose of the 2004 AGM is to identify candidates and subsequently elect officers for the 2005 soccer season.

The club is seeking candidates to fill the following positions: President, Vice-President, Director of Coaching and Player Development, Treasurer, Club Administrator, Communications Director, and Director(s) At-large. Each position has a one year term and is a member of the club's executive committee -which manages the club and its operations. If you'd like to be a part of this successful organization, please attend this meeting.

The Patriot Soccer Club is a non-profit organization who provides opportunities for the student athletes of Gray and New Gloucester. The club is recognized for their organizational/operational excellence and the very successful Patriot CrossRoads Challenge tournament they host each Columbus Day weekend.

"Christmas in the Country", Old Fashioned Christmas Fair, Saturday November 20, 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m., Tuttle Road United Methodist Church, (near Middle Road) Cumberland. Handmade gifts, children's items, homemade candy and fudge, Country Store, Christmas items, children's craft room, unique gifts, and much more. Hot dogs, hamburgers, & stew are available for lunch. Beans and ham: Saturday, October 30, 2004, from 4:45 - 6 pm, at the Highland Lake Congregational Church, 1303 Bridgton Road. Beans, ham, coleslaw, potato salad, Italian bread, pies and beverages. Adults $6, children under 12 $2.

Curtis Pride is coming, who played with the Anaheim Angels this year, will be coming to New Gloucester Maine to talk to hear ME now! on October 30th, 2004. From 3-5 p.m.

He is coming as a keynote speaker for a conference geared at promoting parent advocacy for children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing that do not use sign language. Curtis was born deaf and is the first deaf baseball player in modern day. His story is extremely moving, and he is truly interested in meeting baseball fans of all ages. We will be opening the conference to the public for his talk and meet and greet. A voluntary donation of $3 is requested to attend the event (payable at the door). Sacred Song Revival II: A concert of gospel music and spirituals featuring all choirs from Sacred Heart and St. Jude Churches will be offered on Sunday, November 7th at 4:00 at Sacred Heart Church, 326 Main St, Yarmouth. Admission is by donation. Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity. Come and enjoy an hour of great music and support the work of our local Habitat chapter!

Harvest Supper: Amvets Ladies' Auxiliary will be holding their annual "Harvest Supper" on November 6 from 5 - 6 pm at the Amvets Hall on Route 100 in New Gloucester. The menu consists of baked ham, squash, potatoes, onions, carrots, cabbage, turnips, rolls and dessert. The price is $7 for adults and $2 for children under 12 years of age.
