Luke & Amy Bouchard are pleased to announce the birth of their baby boy, Nicholas Richard Bouchard, on October 31, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Portland. Proud Grandparents include Richard & Patti Bouchard of Farmingdale and Thomas & Margo Carmines of Skowhegan.

Mark & Samantha Dufresne are proud to announce the birth of their son, Zeke Forest Dufresne. Zeke arrived on October 24, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Portland. Grandparents are James & Helen Hall of Gray, ME., and Norm & Linda Dufresne of Massachusetts. Vivian Russell of Gray and Ida Allis of Massachusetts are the Great Grandparents.

Holiday Events

Christmas craft fair and raffle: The South Windham Community Church at 31 Main St in South Windham is having a Christmas Craft Fair on December 4th from 10 - 2. (Snow date is December 11th). Raffle tickets are available for many prizes that will be drawn at the fair. Prizes include a digital camera, pearl necklace, gift certificates to Marvin's Family Hair Care and Thayer's Store, tennis lessons, a hammer drill, binoculars and other items. Refreshments will be available. Gift items for sale include tools, quilts, crafts, guitars, toys, and homemade goodies. Raffle tickets can be purchased on Sundays after church (11:15) or call 233-3429. Need not be present to win raffles. Custom gift wrapping available.

New Gloucester tree lighting: The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be on Sunday, November 28 at 4:30 pm at the Town Hall Plaza. The program includes the Gray-New Gloucester High School Chorus, a sing-along led by master of ceremonies Kevin Fowler, and the lighting of the tree, Tiny Timber, by some lucky youngster. A reception follows in the New Gloucester Library.

Annual Fair Sacred Heart Church on Main Street in Yarmouth will be holding their Annual Christmas Fair on Saturday, December 4th from 9 to 2. There will be morning coffee and donuts, a Lobster Stew Luncheon with lobster rolls, hot dogs and pizza, many hand made crafts, knitted goods, wreaths, baked goods, jams & jellies. Annual Shaker Christmas Fair to be held on December 4th.
The annual Shaker Christmas Fair will be held from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, just off Route 26 in New Gloucester. Gifts for all ages are available - "come one, come all!"

Southern Maine Children's Chorus holiday concert

Warm your holiday spirit with the cherubic voices of children singing! The members of the Training Choir of the Southern Maine Children's Chorus will perform on December 5. Director Lise Dunn and assistant director, Monica Kantor-Churchill, will lead the young singers in a program of seasonal music. The choir will be accompanied by pianist Katy Stetson.
This annual holiday season concert will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004 at the Sacred Heart Church in Yarmouth. Admission is free. For more information call 780-5555. The Choir is part of the USM/Fleet Youth Ensembles program which is generously sponsored by Bank of America.

Annual Grange Christmas Craft Fair
and Sale: Sabbathday Lake Grange will hold its Annual Craft Fair and Sale on Saturday, December 4 from 9-2 at the Hall on old Rt. 26 in new Gloucester. Crafters, baked goods, attic treasures, grab bags, raffles and more. Mrs. Santa will be there and enjoy lunch of hot dogs and beans. To reserve a table call 998-4731 or 657-4612.

New Gloucester Bible Church
We are a Bible-preaching, Christ centered, family-oriented church. It is our desire to be a vital part of our community through a ministry of sharing the Gospel, caring, and outreach to single and married people, and through family-supportive activities. Each guest is a welcomed friend. We make it our goal that your visit with us be both pleasant and meaningful. Schedule of services: Sunday School at 9:15 am, Sunday morning worship at 10:30 am, Sunday evening worship at 6:00 pm, and Wednesday night prayer at 6:30 pm. Nursery and Junior Church provided during Sunday morning worship.

Craft Fair
The Lake Region Eagles #4352, 824 Roosevelt Trail in Windham, will be holding a craft fair Saturday, November 27th from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M. Tables are still available. For more information, call Teresa at 892-2253.

Dinner of Giving Thanks. Presented for the community by the Lakes Region faith community. Thanksgiving Day. North Windham Union Church, Rt. 302 (across from the fire station). Thursday, November 25. All are welcome. 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Public skating at Hebron Academy, Sundays, November 21-March 6, 2:30-4:30 pm, in Robinson Ice Arena, Hebron Academy campus. $2 for adults and children 13 and up; $1 for children 12 and under. The Gray Extension will hold their December meeting on December 1st at 10 a.m. in the Parish House on Brown Street. There will be a "pot luck" luncheon with a gift exchange, entertainment by the children of Head Start, and donations for the Town Food Pantry. A reminder to members, there will be no January meeting. Gray Recreation Department Activities
The 2004-05 Early Winter flier went out to the schools last week. If you haven't seen one check the backpacks or pick one up at the many locations: Gray and New Gloucester Town Office, Gray Public Library or Newbegin Gym.

Students in grades 3 to 5 - Monday, November 29th from 5:30-7:30
Students in grades 6 to 8 - Tuesday, November 30th from 5:30-7:30
Other important dates: December 1st is Dry-land instructor training @ Pineland 7:00pm
January 8th is On-snow instructor training @ Pineland 9:00am
January 11th is first day of skiing for grades 3-5 @ Dunn School (3:00 to 4:30)
January 12th is first day of skiing for grades 6-8 @ GNG Middle School 2:00 to 4:00)

Junior Basketball Program:
Girls and boys ages 4 to 6; held at Newbegin Gym on Saturdays; limited to 12 players per age group.

Patriot Basketball Program:
This program starts on Saturday, December 4th so register now!!
Boys Program is coached by GNG H.S. Varsity Coach Mike Andreasen as well as coaching staff and players.
Boys will be at GNG MIddle School: Grade 1 & 2 (8:00-8:45) / Grades 3 & 4 (8:45-9:45) / Grades 5 & 6 (9:45-11)
Girls Program is coached by GNG H.S. Varsity Coach Harvey Moynihan as well as coaching staff and players.
Girls will be at GNG H.S. Grades 1 to 3 in the West Gym from 8:30 -9:30 and Grades 4 to 6 in East Gym from 8:30-9:45.
