Women's Meeting: You are invited to Women's Connection Monday, March 1, 6:30 p.m. at Cole Farms. Pat Hansen will talk about seeds & weeds, roots & fruits. Beth Acker of New Gloucester grows Angora rabbits, spin, and sells the yarn. She will show and tell and also sell.. The price is $10.50 for a great meal, meet some new people, learn some new things, and maybe buy some yarn. Call 926-3662 for a reservation.

Public Supper: March 6th, 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the American Legion, 15 Lewiston Road, Gray. Beans, chop suey, coleslaw, hot dogs, brown and Italian breads, pies. Adults $5.50, children under 12 $2.50, children under 5 free.

Cribbage Tournament March 13, 2004 10:00A.M.-TIL finished Gray Parish Hall( behind macdonalds ) Refreshments, prizes, fun $5.00 per person sponsored by The National Federation Of The Blind.

Hockey Action: In middle school hockey action on Thursday in Biddeford, GNG/Poland fell to Marshwood 5 to 2. Scoring for GNG/Poland were Ben Piper and Gardner Lajoie. Assists went to Piper, Lajoie & Jarred Murphy. Sean Bilodeau tended the net. Scoring for Marshwood were 2 goals for Bill Tobey, Matt Nadeau, Anthony Gile & Sam Dellisola. Alex Tobey was goalie.

Patriot Grandstand Club Ice-Fishing Tournament and Fashion Show-
The Patriot Grandstand Club is having an ice-fishing tournament on Saturday, February 28th at Sabbathday Lake (Route 26, beach side). Registration starts at 6:00 a.m. at the Sabbathday Grange Hall. The tournament starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. The fee is $10.00/ person or $15.00/ family. Tickets may be purchased at Gray True-Value, Mooney's Bait Shop and Dry Mills Store. Lunch and refreshments will be available at the Sabbathday Grange. Sponsored by FET. Proceeds will support the GNG football program.

Prizes will be awarded for the biggest (heaviest) fish: First place is $100.00. Second place is $75.00. Third place is $50.00 and a $25.00 savings bond will be awarded to the junior (under 12) participant catching the biggest fish.
There will also be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

The Grandstand Club is also planning a Pre-Prom Fashion Show for March 13th. David's Bridal and Mr. Tux will be providing formalwear. We need (GNG High School) Student models for the show! If you are interested, please go to the office at the high school for more information and to sign-up. Jane Seavey of Mary Kay will be providing make up for our models; representatives from a local florist and limousine service will also be at the show. Become a Foster Grandparent: Earn extra income while helping children learn and grow. Volunteer Training will be held March 29 - April 2, 2004. PROP's Foster Grandparent Program has openings for men and women 60 and over interested in becoming a volunteer in York or Cumberland Counties. Foster Grandparents help improve the lives of children with special needs while having a great time and earning a little extra money.

Typical assignments include helping children in schools with their assignments, reading with toddlers in a child development center, or supporting families by visiting them in their homes.

In return, Foster Grandparents who are income eligible have an opportunity to earn tax-free income while volunteering twenty hours a week in their community sharing their knowledge and skills. Foster Grandparents are also eligible for paid vacations and sick leave, holidays, assistance with meals and travel, annual physical, pre-service training, supervision and recognition.

Shaker Museum workshops: The 2004 Sabbathday Lake Shaker Museum Workshop Listing will be available on March 1. The list includes workshops and demonstrations. This year's workshops include four woodworking workshops, herb garden workshop, pressed flower design, chair caning (two classes), floor cloths, growing lavender, herbal wreaths, and ornaments. Ten Star All Star Basketball Camp: Applications are now being evaluated for the Ten Star All Star Summer Basketball Camp. The Camp is by invitation only. Boys and girls ages 10-19 are eligible to apply. Past participants include Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, Jerry Stackhouse, Grant Hill and Antawn Jamison. Players from 50 states and 11 foreign countries attended the 2003 Camp. College Basketball Scholarships are possible for players selected to the All-American Team. Camp locations include Hamilton, NY, Thousand Oaks, CA, Sterling, CO, Babson Park, FL, Atlanta, GA, Champaign, IL, Greencastle, IN, Atchison, KS, Baltimore, MD, Ypsilanti, MI, Hickory, NC, Bluffton, OH, Lock Haven, PA, Lebanon, TN, Commerce, TX, Blacksburg, VA, Poultney, VT, Olympia, WA, and Beloit, WI. AA Meetings: Mondays 10:30-noon, Thursdays, 8-9 p.m. Al-Anon meetings: Thursdays, 8-9 p.m. All are held at St. Gregory's Parish hall, North Raymond Road, Gray. All are welcome.

The Gray Extension Group will meet March 3, at 9:30 a.m. in the Gray Congregational Church parish house on Brown Street. The guest will be a speaker from Knifty Knitters, who will present information on the need for volunteer knitters to make items for the pediatric and cancer units at local hospitals. Bring any 'no longer needed' items you may have for the white elephant table. Also bring a bag lunch, coffee provided. Plan to stay following lunch for games and fellowship.
