Gray - New Gloucester Optimist Club Plant Sale
Are you anxious to start your spring planting? Are you hoping that we've seen the last of the snow and that there will be some warm, sunny May weekends following these April showers? Think Optimistically!

The GNG Optimist Club will be holding the 2nd annual spring plant sale at Key Bank in Gray. Due to the overwhelming success of last year's sale, our sale will run on 2 different dates this year, on Saturday May 8 (think Mother's Day!) and on Saturday May 22 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. both days. 12" hanging baskets of petunias and mixed annuals, 8" tubs and 6 packs of annual bedding plants as well as geraniums in pots, among other varieties will be available. Marstaller Greenhouses of NorthYarmouth will be supplying some wonderful plants for our sale as they did last year.

Please help support the Optimist Club while purchasing some beautiful & healthy plants for your gardens. Funds raised from the sale are used by the club to sponsor our many community service projects throughout the year. FMI about the sale or the Optimist Club, please contact Sheila Myhaver @ 428-4111, or smyhaver@maine.rr.com. To learn more about Optimist International, check us out on the web at http://www.optimist.org, or ask for one of our fliers at the sale.

New Gloucester Historical Society
Let's Talk about Tropical Orchids!
NEW GLOUCESTER-At the May meeting of the New Gloucester Historical Society, we always try to have a garden-related subject, and this year is no exception. On Thursday, May 20, Richard D. Morin, co-owner of Wood Sprite Orchids, in New Gloucester, will speak about his business growing these marvelous plants and how you can cultivate them in your own home.
The meeting will take place at the New Gloucester Meetinghouse, 389 Intervale Rd. (Rt. 231) at 7:30 p.m. As usual, there will be a short business meeting and refreshments prior to Mr. Morin's talk.

Please join us for what should be a delightful evening.

Card of Thanks
A big Thank You to everyone involved with the spring Gray Public Library Book/Bake/Yard Sale on Sat, April 24th. The yard sale did not take place, but look for a new date soon! The book/bake sale was another success thanks to all the great volunteers who donated their time before and during the sale. And to all the wonderful people who donated books, food and yard sale items. Some of the programs that benefit from the sale are passes to museums or parks, summer concerts and the children's summer reading program. Thanks again to everyone.

Thanks: The Town of Gray would like to thank the Gray Extension and Gray Congregational Church for their donations to the Gray food closet
