Letters to the Editor

Dear New Gloucester Friends and Neighbours,

The New Gloucester Town Republican Committee is looking for local citizens who wish to become more informed and involved in Maine's political situation. The New Gloucester GOP is a small and informal group that will welcome you. We are particularly aware that while the country is beginning an economic recovery, our State of Maine is not. It is an unnecessary shame, that many of us and our children may no longer be able to work and live well in the State of Maine.

Our neighbours in New Hampshire, who have enjoyed predominately Republican leadership for decades, are proof that Republican led government works. In Maine the majority party controls the final outcome of government. Maine Republicans have not been able to take credit for that outcome for many years. The Democrats continue to enjoy a solid majority in, and control of, state government. If you are starting to feel the pinch or don't want to in the future, then perhaps it is time to join the GOP team. You can do this by coming to the New Gloucester Republican caucus at the Town Meeting House, Lower Village, 7:30pm on Friday this February 27. For more information call Donna Glaser, 926- 5644.

Thank you,
Ed Mitchell,
New Gloucester Town Republican Committee
