Letters to the Editor

Editor:

As someone involved in public safety issues in town, I find myself quite happy with the work of our county deputies and state troopers except for our growing traffic control problems. At the same time, I understand that it is appropriate to be looking forward to the future needs of the citizens of Gray and its neighbors.

When will we need more local control over patrols at businesses or neighborhoods? More protection at rescue and fire scenes for our emergency volunteers? Detectives and undercover officers for crime
prevention and investigation? Or perhaps what we need is one person to issue speeding tickets on Route 26 like Yarmouth does on Route 115. Our Town Council has asked us for our opinions and I encourage everyone to share them.

Mark D. Grover, Gray
