Seven candiates line up for vacant seat
By Elizabeth Prata
Gray--The
Gray Town Council Chair Pam Wilkinson and Manager
Mitch Berkowitz developed a dozen questions for the
seven candidates to answer in what they call "Phase
2" of the appointee process to fill a vacant
seat on the Council. The seat became available when
Richard Barter stepped down on October 5. The seat
will be filled by an appointee until the next municipal
election in June, when the successful appointee, or
a challenger, may run for election for the remmaining
one year of Barter's term. Phase 1 included an interview
at the Council meeting on the 19th of October. There
were four candidates there, Richard Hall, Alison Brown,
Andy Upham, and Denise Duda, who answered the Council's
questions in a short interview. Mark Sanborn, Wade
Trudel, and Michael MacDonald will be given another
chace to answer some questions on the spot at the
November 9th meeting.
