SAD #15 Transportation Director placed on leave
SAD Board of Directors chair Dan Maguire confirmed to The Monument that Tom Emmertz, Transportation Director for SAD 15, has been placed on leave of absence. Maguire said that the leave of absence began sometime in January, although he was not sure of the exact date it began. When asked how long the leave will be for, he referred The Monument to Interim Superintendent Vicky Burns. When asked the reasons for the leave, Maguire said, "I would not care to comment on that." Director of Finance and Operations position filled soon
SAD Board of Directors chair Dan Maguire said that the interview process for the Director of Finance and Operations is going well. The SAD received a number of responses to the position announcement, and "four or five" interviews were conducted by members of an interview committee from the SAD Board, New Gloucester Board, and the Gray Council. "The Interview Committee has not made a recommendation as of yet," Maguire said.

Interim Superintendent Vicky Burns was contacted for comment via e-mail but questions were not returned.

The position became open after the SAD fired the former Director when it was discovered that he had engaged disreputable activities not consistent with the ethics of the SAD Board policies.
