Wants To Keep Tractor Trailers Off Local Roads

Washington, DC - Following a public hearing in Augusta about highway weight limits, Senator Susan Collins reasserted her efforts to increase the truck weight limit on all interstate highways in Maine in order to direct more heavy tractor trailer traffic off of smaller, local roads. A recent transportation study found that raising the highway truck weight limit would be safer and more cost effective. more
