Pemberton's Gourmet Foods Wins Award at New England Products Trade Show

Gray, Maine - On Tuesday, March 9 Pemberton's Gourmet Foods was awarded second place in the "Best New Product Contest" at the New England Products Trade Show in Portland, Maine. This award was given for the company's new Artichoke Scarpetta pasta and bread-dipping sauce. While attending the show, gourmet food buyers were invited to cast a ballot for the best new product being introduced by each food company.

"We were thrilled to have one of our new products recognized for this award," said Sarah Johnson, co-owner and creator of the award-winning sauce. "Our inspiration for the sauce was Scarpetta, which means "little shoe" and is often used among native Italians when eating homemade pasta sauces so delightful that every drop must be savored and wiped clean from dinner plates with fresh Italian bread. Our aim was to develop a delicious, all-natural sauce with fresh ingredients that could not only be used with pasta, but also for bread-dipping appetizers and meat dishes."

At the show, Pemberton's introduced several new products, including Artichoke Scarpetta and Spicy Arrabbiata Italian pasta and bread-dipping sauces. In addition, Pemberton's launched two new beer-based cooking sauces, a sesame Asian glaze and a seafood barbecue sauce, both containing award-winning Windjammer Ale from the Sea Dog Brewing Company.

Pemberton's also unveiled its new line of Mountain Mornings breakfast products, including: Fresh Maine Wild Blueberry Pancake Mix, Maine Wild Blueberry Scone Mix, Maple Buttermilk Pancake Mix, Maine Wild Blueberry and Lemon Muffin Mix, Four-Grain Pancake Mix, and Maine Wild Blueberry Breakfast Syrup.

Pemberton's currently distributes their full line of cooking sauces, pestos, salsas, dessert sauces, mixes, and other gourmet products to almost 1,000 specialty food stores nationwide.
