Election results for Gray and New Gloucester

The SAD 15 school budget passed in Gray and New Gloucester Tuesday at the polls. The School Board had presented a budget to district voters that represented a 5% increase over last year, and a separate warrant article asking to start a program for All-Day Kindergarten. The All-Day K article failed to pass by 41 votes. It passed in New Gloucester with a vote of 403 to 371. In Gray it failed by a vote of 565 to 638 for a total vote of 928 (yes) to 1009 (no).

Alan Rich was re-elected to the SAD Board of Directors with 408 votes and newcomer Sharon Vandermay was also voted in with 411. There were two seats available. Steven Moran earned 326 votes.

On the Selectboard, Chair Steve Libby was re-elected with 488 votes and David Lunt took the seat Steve Chandler vacated with 543 votes.

In Gray, Gary Foster with 849 votes unseated two-term Councilor Jack Goosetrey (345). Ralph Wink sailed in to the Water District seat over Andrew Upham, 653 votes to 438.

On the School Board in Gray, there were two seats available with three running. Board Chair Dan Maguire was unseated, he earned 463 votes, while Tami Plummer got 634 and Christine Small earned 647.
