U-12 Patriot Boys Win 2005 State Championship Anthem Cup
Capping off a 13-3-3 season the Gray-New Gloucester, Maine Patriot U-12 Boys Team won the Anthem Cup on Saturday November 5th.

As they entered the playoffs in late October the Patriots earned victories over Hampden, Freeport and Fairfield to qualify for a potential wild card seed in the Anthem Cup. After a hard fought victory over Noble, the Patriots tied Saco and earned the wild card seed based on giving up the least number of goals. In six qualifying round games, the Patriots earned four shutouts, and gave up only four goals.

The Patriots entered the semifinals needing to beat Capital (Augusta) the only team that beat them in the qualifying rounds to get to the Anthem Cup Championship. Last Saturday, completing their sixth shutout of the playoffs, the Patriots captured the Anthem Cup with a final score of 2-0 against Capital.
