Caught at the Crossroads

Above, this Hertz truck driver needed a donut an coffee at the Dunkin' Donuts across the street so badly he parked illegally in front of Stimson Hall in Gray, on Shaker Road to go get it. Shaker Road is a busy State Road, known also as Route 26. Parking here means that vehicles exiting Town Office cannot see beyond the truck to determine if there is oncoming traffic. It also means that traffic traveling through the intersection a few hundred feet to his south pile up and have their own visual obstacle to overcome in trying to get around him. It is a safety issue. Please heed the traffic signs and park where allowed.

Above: Morning commute in Gray. Public Works Director Steve LaVallee reported to the Council Tuesday night that Gray has been free from major vehicle accidents. There are many fender benders though at this crossroads that becomes so gridlocked during the critical hour of 7:30-8:30 a.m. and again in the afternoon between 4 and 6 p.m.
