Caught at the Crossroads

Gray Town Council Chair Pam Wilkinson reads a proclamation to Mae Beck on the occasion of her 100th birthday. The Council all pitched in and gave Ms. Beck 100 roses. On the day of her birthday the Town set up a mobile sign in front of her Village home that read, "Happy 100th Birthday." She received over 100 happy birthday cards and many visitors.

One interesting visitor was the truck driver who read the birthday sign, parked his truck, and went in to wish Ms. Beck a happy birthday- he had never met someone who had reached 100 and wanted to pay a respectful visit.

Incidentally, Ms. Beck was born on 5-5-05 and celebrated her 100th on
5-5-05.
