Editorial
This
week's issue illustrates once again how vibrant and
industrious our communities are.
The
Historical Society members, volunteers all, work in
heat and cold upstairs in Pennell Institute with the
sole purpose of protecting, preserving, and sharing
Gray's history and culture. They do it so well, so
consistently, and so magnanimously, too.
New
Gloucester resident Micah Hilton's perseverance in
illustrating, body and soul, that Multiple Sclerosis,
while debilitating, does not define the person. His
example of athleticism, persistence, and endurance
are qualities that help inspire and ultimately strengthen
our community.
The
Gray Public Library's efforts to provide quality programming
at no cost is another example of hard-working staffers
and volunteers whose unfailing commitment to literacy
is a community enhancer. It was quite a coup to have
a New York Times bestselling author come speak and
very generous of the local business to donate the
furniture and decorations which would showcase our
community to its best advantage.
Thank
you all for allowing us to share these and other wonderful
stories with the community at large. Our continued
commitment is to you, the volunteers and community
members, who inspire us. Sharing stories that in turn
may inspire others is our privilege.
