Gray-New Gloucester American Legion Blood Drive

The Gray-New Gloucester area will have the opportunity to donate blood on Monday, October 17, at the American Legion Hall, Route 100, 15 Lewiston Road, in Gray. Spanish Pot Luck Supper
Se Habla Espanol?

Fiddlehead Center for the Arts (FCA) in New Gloucester will be holding monthly Spanish Pot Luck gatherings on the first Thursday of each month. The first Spanish gathering will be held Thursday, October 6th at 7 p.m. The Pot Luck is for all levels of Spanish speakers and the only regla is that you try to habla espanol. There is no fee for this fun and enjoyable event.
Bring your favorite dish (Latin or not) to Fiddlehead Center for the Arts located at 83 Pineland Drive (near the tennis courts and Dunn School in New Gloucester.) Sabbathday Shaker Village events

October 8th - Apple Saturday (reservations required for Orchard Walks) Special events include homemade donut and cider sale, nature walks (reservations required), and weaving demonstration

Happy Hands Play Group resumed

The group is open to the public and meets each Wednesday in the New Begin Center basement from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.. The cost is 50 cents per child and covers the cost of a snack. Parents or caregivers are to remain with their children over the duration of the session. The late start is due to renovations at the Newbegin Center. 4th Annual Choir Festival

October 16th, 3 p.m. held at the Tuttle Road United Methodist Church in Cumberland, ME. Choirs from area churches in Gray, Gorham, Cumberland, Portland and South Portland will sing two numbers apeices and then will join in a massed choir to sing two anthems. Festival Choir Director is Sandi Simpson from Clark Memorial UMC and Festival Accompianist is Bethany Smart from Good Shepherd UMC in Gray.

The songs will rock your soul and lift your spirit. Join in the hymn sing before the concert and then get a chance to mingle with the singers during the reception immediately following.

Admission is free and there will be a Love Offering with proceeds directed towards UMCOR for hurricane relief in the Gulf Coast. FMI, please call 829-3766 or email: mqueior@verizon.net .

Gray Snowolves to meet

Come on out and get involved in your local snowmobile club!! We need the help getting the trails ready for this winter. Due to conflicts in schedule, this month's meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 25th not on the usual 2nd Tuesday of the month. We meet at 7 p.m. at the Fish & Wildlife Bldg. on Route 26. Annual Harvest Supper

Sabbathday Lake Grange on the old Route 26 in New Gloucester will be holding their annual Harvest Supper on Saturday, October 15 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Adults, $7.00; Children under 12, $3.00. The menu consists of Roast Turkey with Stuffing and Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Peas, Squash, Boiled Onions, Cranberry Sauce, Bread, and Home Made Desserts. Served family style.

CPR first aid training

Sons of Amvets Squadron 6 will be hosting a CPR first aid class. All proceeds will be used for community service. The CPR class will be held on Sunday, October 16th from 6-9 p.m. The class will certify you for two years and will cover adult child and infant cardiac and choking emergencies. The cost is $20 per person the first aid class will be held on Wednesday, October 19th from 6-9 p.m. The class will certify you for two years and will cover adult child and infant first aid.
