Santa coming to New Gloucester on Christmas Eve

The 39 year tradition in New Gloucester for Santa to visit on Christmas Eve continues. The following will be a schedule of his route:
From 4-6 p.m. Santa will be at Thompson's orchard. He will give out Santa snacks with a few goodies in them. No personal gifts at Thompson's, just the goodie sacks.

At 6 p.m. sharp Santa will leave Thompson's and continue down Gloucester Hill Rd. to Lower Gloucester. He will stop at Town Hall if needed to distribute goodie sacks with personal gifts. He then goes up Intervale Rd. and Peacock Hill Rd. to the top of the hill. He turns, comes back down Peacock Hill to Upper Corner Christmas tree where he will distribute goodie sacks with personal gifts if needed. He goes down Bald Hill Rd and veer left to Snow Hill Rd. he ends his route at the turnpike overpass on Snow Hill Rd.
People who could not give personal gifts at Thompson's can gladly have them given at Lower Corner Town Hall and Upper Corner Christmas tree stops. Santa will still come inside to visit homes along the route. Holiday Concert

The Gray New Gloucester Middle School bands and choruses would like to invite you to their "Annual Holiday Concert". The event will take place in the Middle School gym on Tuesday, December 13 at 7 p.m.

Donations will be accepted at the door. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to Thursday, December 15.

Letters to Santa!

Mail your letter to directly to Santa! Place your letters in the box in the Gray Post office entry to ensure safe travel to the North Pole! All letters must be mailed (in the box) by December 19th. Christmas Party While You Shop!

Parents, here is your opportunity to drop your kids off for a fun time while freeing you up to do some much needed Christmas shopping! The New Gloucester Bible Church would like to invite your children to a Christmas Party to be held on Saturday, December 10 from 9- 12 a.m. All children ages 5 thru 12 are welcomed! We will have fun and games, arts and crafts, snacks, songs, and a Bible lesson. All children will receive a gift.

The 2nd Annual Mike Willette Christmas Show

The Franco-American Heritage Center on Cedar Street in Lewiston will present The 2nd Annual Mike Willette Christmas Show - Island of the Misfit Toys, a new Christmas tradition for the whole family at The Center, on December 17th at 7:30 PM. Mike Willette brings his annual Christmas Show with special guests, including misfit toys, reindeer, elves, Rudolph, Frosty, Fifi the Christmas Firefly, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.

Reminiscent of the family-popular Williams and Como shows of the 60's and 70's, it's an old-fashioned, Andy Williams-style….Christmas show for the entire family', Mike Willette will host a 'magical' evening of entertainment.
Tickets purchased in advance for adults, $12; children under 12, $10. At the door, tickets are $12 for children and $15 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at Hannaford Supermarkets in Lewiston and Auburn; or Victor News on Park Street in Lewiston. Latino-Hispanic Christmas Celebration at USM

The University of Southern Maine Latino-Hispanic Student Association is hosting La Posada, a Latino-Hispanic Christmas celebration taking place from 6-11 p.m., Saturday, December 17, in USM's Woodbury Campus Center located on Bedford St., Portland.

The celebration will offer piñatas, the opportunity to dance the salsa, merengue, bachata and cumbia, and an ethnic food sale.
Admission to the event, which is co-sponsored by Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, is $2 for the public and $1 for USM students with I.D.

Gray Business Association Business Break on December 15, 2005

Please join the GBA and your host, Phil DiRusso, at the Cumberland County YMCA located at the Pineland Campus on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 6pm!! This is a great opportunity to network your business and to learn more about the "Y" and the GBA. Refreshments will be served and the GBA Board of Directors meeting will follow directly at 7pm. We we strongly urge all members to attend both!

GBA Annual Banquet: The GBA is holding the annual banquet at Spring Meadows on Saturday, January 21, 2006. The banquet starts at 6 p.m. with a social and cash bar. A sit down dinner will be served from 7-8 p.m. The membership meeting will begin at 8 p.m. There is a guest speaker to be announced and we have many important changes to consider this year. Book Group members sought
The New Gloucester Public Library has 2 openings in our evening book group. This group is made up of 8 people and we meet the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. Happy Hands Play Group

The group is open to the public and meets each Wednesday in the New Begin Center basement from 9:30 to 11 a.m.. The cost is 50 cents per child and covers the cost of a snack. Coastal Humane Society Holiday Fair & Open House

Brunswick, Maine - The Coastal Humane Society will host its Holiday Fair & Open House on December 11, from 11am-3 pm. The public is invited to visit with the animals and enjoy refreshments, craft items and baked goods. Potted Amaryllis bulbs and pet gifts will be on sale, drawings will be held for door prizes and raffles. Donations of animal toys and treats and items from the CHS Wish List will be gratefully accepted.
