Accolades:
Last Friday, the children of Holy Cross School in South Portland gave to the Red Cross $1,522.60 they had raised for the tsunami victims in South Asia. The students took this on as their Community Service Project for Catholic Schools Week which ran from 2/7 - 2/11. Suzanne McCormick of the Red Cross came to explain to the children that with this money, the Red Cross can by 750 beds for children. Broken down, each student paid for 3 beds! The children had a dress down day to raise money, they had collection buckets in each classroom and $700 came from the Thai Garden Restaurant and their patrons.
