Congratulations!
Announcement is made of the engagement of Meggan Holt & DeeJay McPhail, both of Oxford. Meggan is the daughter of Tom Holt of New Gloucester and Ruth Holt of Gray. She is an Administrative Assistant at the St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railroad in Auburn. DeeJay is the son of Vickie McDonnell of Windham. He is technician at Verizon in Norway.
The wedding will be held on May 21, 2005 at All Souls Chapel in Poland, with a reception to follow at Lost Valley Lodge in Auburn.

New Gloucester Preschool silent auction and public supper

Mark your calendars! A public supper and silent auction will be held at the First Congregational Church in New Gloucester on March 19th. The silent auction runs from 4-7 and has over 40 items to bid on! The supper runs from 5-6:30 and includes spaghetti and meatballs in homemade sauce, dinner rolls, tossed salad, homemade desserts, and beverages. All proceeds will benefit the Block House Preschool Scholarship Fund.

Adults $6, children $3, family $20. All are welcome without fee to participate in the silent auction! For more information, call Liz Shampine at 926-4523.

Family Contra Dance: Saturday, March 19, 6 to 8 p.m., tickets $5 for 1, $10 for family @door. Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting Lorie Miklovich, 926-3503. Dance will be at the Middle School Gym. Proceeds go to Destination Imagination team trip to Tennessee for Global Competition.

Public Baked Bean Supper
At the Amvet Hall. Rt. 100, New Gloucester. Saturday, 3/19 from 5 to 6 p.m. Beans, Chop Suey, Cole Slaw, Hot Dogs, Biscuits, Brown Bread and pie. Adults $6:00, Children $2:00. FMI 926-4402.

Bean Supper: The Highland Lake Congregational Church will be holding a bean supper on Saturday March 19th from 4:45-6. The meal will feature beans, ham, coleslaw, potato salad, italian bread, pies and beverage. Adults $6, children under 12 only $2. The church is located at 1303 Bridgton Road.

Irish supper- new date
Due to the snow, the Sacred Heart/Saint Dominic's Grand Opening/Saint Patrick's Day Celebration was postponed from March 12 to March 19. 5 p.m social followed by dinner at 5:30, entertainment, and dancing. Adults $10, Children/Seniors $6, Family Cap for immediate family members $30. All tickets must be purchased in advance in the main church after weekend masses (2/19-3/6) or through the Parish Office at 80 Sherman Street corner of Mellen and Sherman Streets, Portland. in Portland (please call 772-6182 from 8:15-12:15 p.m, Monday through Friday).

Medium's Day: The Portland Spiritualist Church is pleased to announce the date of their annual Medium's Day to be held:

Topsham Forestry Workshop Rescheduled for April 4
At 6 p.m. on April 4 at the Topsham Public Library, the Topsham Conservation Committee and cosponsors Brunswick Conservation Commission, Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust and Friends of Merrymeeting Bay will host a forestry workshop-rescheduled from March 8 due to snow-for private landowners, foresters, town officials and land trust staff and members interested in integrating timber management and biodiversity.

Hundreds will Celebrate Autism Awareness Month
Maine Autism Resource Fair in April
In recognition of April as National Autism Awareness Month, various individuals and organizations from across Maine are coming together to present the 1st Maine Autism Resource Fair on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Kennebec Valley Community College, Fairfield, Maine. Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability in the U.S.

There is no cost and no registration required to attend the fair. Participants of the fair will have access to over 25 vendor tables. There are nine breakout sessions throughout the day. The sessions will cover advocacy, speech and language, disability awareness, autism and Asperger's 101, using videos for visual learners, PET, IEP tools and laws and principles of behavior. There will be two sessions dedicated to siblings (ages 6 and up) of autistic individuals.

The fair begins at 9 a.m., with workshops starting at 10 a.m. Door prizes will be drawn at 4 p.m. and the fair ends at 4:30 p.m.

Get your dancing shoes on and come on out and dance to our fabulous band, Fourtune! The Gray Snowolves are sponsoring a scholarship fundraiser dance Saturday, March 19, from 8-midnight at the Gray American Legion Hall on Rt. 100. The cost is a mere $10 per person and we will be conducting a silent auction, too. So, come on out and support your local snowmobile club...we can guarantee a good time!
