Birth Announcement

Mr. Guy Ladd and Mrs. Anne Russo-Ladd are excited to announce the birth of their daughter, Abigail. Miss Abigail Jordan Ladd was born at The Birthplace at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine of March 13, 2005. Proud grandparents are Florence & Gerard Russo of North Sebago and Barbara & Peter Lyon of North Bridgton. James McGrath of Brownville Jct. is Abigail's great grandfather. Congratulations!

The Gray Extension Group will meet Wednesday, April 6, at 9:30 AM in the Gray Congregational Church Parish House on Brown Street.

The program will be presented by Tracy Purcell, who runs the Snow Hill Soap Company. She will give us a brief history of how she started her company and how she makes the soap. The public is welcome to attend the program which will start at 10:30 a.m. The members will have a bag lunch following the program, and bring items for the "treasures" table. FMI, call 428-3893.

April 2nd 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., American Legion, 15 Lewiston Rd. Gray. Beans, Chop Suey, Cole Slaw, Hot Dogs, Breads and Pies. Adults $5.50, Children U/12 $2.50. U/5 yrs. free.

Several new workshops and a series of Family Workshops are part of the 2005 season at the Shaker Museum, Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, New Gloucester, ME. New workshop in woodworking, basketmaking and papermaking complement the other offerings in floorcloths, herb gardening and chair caning.

The season also includes Family Workshops in culinary and medicinal herbs and dressing a doll. Crafts demonstrations, a stone wall workshop, garden internships, a wildflower walk, a lecture on spectacles and several other special events round out the 2005 season. Medium's Day

The Portland Spiritualist Church is pleased to announce the date of their annual Medium's Day to be held: When: March 26, 2005, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Where: Unitarian Universalist Church, 719 Main Street, Westbrook, ME. Activities to include: Readings, Healing/Angel Readings, Auric Photographs, Refreshments, Vendors Tables.

Chicken Pie Sale
Sabbathday Lake Grange is now taking orders for their Saturday, April 16 Chicken Pie Sale.

Call Pam Dyer at 657-4612 to place your order and to be sure or getting yours, order early. Price is $6.00 each or 2 for $12. Pickup is between 10 a.m. and 12 noon on the 16th.

Volunteers needed
Flying Changes Center for Therapeutic Riding seeks volunteers who would like to help with the organization of "Pony Day Family Festival" to be held on Sunday, May 22nd at the Center on Rtoute 201 in Topsham.
The event is designed to involve children and parents in a "PonyDay" of delightful activities for all in an effort to raise funds to support programs. The non-profit organization provides services to 80 low income special needs children and adults each week, many of whom reside in the Bath/Brunswick/Topsham area.

The Center needs volunteers to help with distributing posters, soliciting prize donations, gathering crafts materials as well as people to help coordinate activites on the day of the event. For information, please call Director Barbara Doughty at 729-0168.

First Aid for pets workshop
Spring is here and we know that families are anxious to get out and enjoy the warm weather with their pets. It is always important to be prepared if your furry friend needs attention in the event of an emergency or happens to wander off and lose its way.

The Coastal Humane Society and The Midcoast Chapter of the American Red Cross have teamed up for a clinic on pet first aid and pet identification to celebrate Pet First Aid Awareness Month and Tag Day. Fred Brann, pet first aid instructor from the American Red Cross will be demonstrating some of his handy skills for caring for "Fido" or "Fluffy" when an injury occurs. Low-cost rabies vaccinations will be offered to dogs, cats, and ferrets, and CHS will also be selling pet first aid kits and books as well as pet ID tags. The Clinic will be held at CHS, 30 Range Road in Brunswick on April 2 from 10 a.m.-1.
