New Gloucester Town Manager Report
By Rosemary Kulow

Woodman Road Pre-bid Meeting

Nine engineers attended the pre-bid meeting held last Thursday, which was held at the Fire Station. They asked many good questions and should be prepared to submit proposals by December 12th. Any additional questions they have are due to the Town Manager by November 22nd. A total of 21 engineering firms requested RFPs for this project!

Fire Department

I asked the Fire Chief to see that the planks at Bear Brook Dam are replaced, and he said he would. Deputy Fire Chief, Tim Bartlett, has stepped down as Deputy Fire Chief and taken a six-month leave of absence from the Fire Dept.

Contracts

I gave D.C.S. Construction Corp. notice to proceed with the transfer station roof replacement project, and construction is currently underway during days the transfer station is not open. Somatex, Inc. was also given notice to proceed with installation of the Public Works garage crane system. Both the town hall alarm system and Meetinghouse siding projects are nearing completion. As agreed, the final coat of stain will be applied to the Meetinghouse in the spring.
