Eben Andrew Dickinson,
Sr., 85,
Gray-Eben Andrew Dickinson, Sr., 85, died peacefully
Sunday, January 9, 2005.
He was born in Kenduskeag, Maine, on March 4, 1919,
a son of Charles Dickinson and Lodisa Goodridge Dickinson.
He completed grammar school in Kenduskeag, and attended
2 years at English High School in Boston.
Mr. Dickinson served during WWII in Japan and the
Aleutian Islands. He served in the Army 18th Engineers
Division. After the war attended Coyne Electrical
and Technical School in Boston. He was later employed
by Bangor Hydro Electric Co.
Eben lived in Pottstown, Pennsylvania for a period
of 25 years, where he was employed by Pottstown Plating
Works.
In 1978 Eben moved to Gray where he has resided for
the past 27 years. Eben will fondly be remembered
by all as the gentleman who happily pushed his grocery
cart all about Gray comer, running errands.
Eben was predeceased by his wife Carrie Holmes Dickinson
and seven brothers and sisters.
Surviving are a daughter Trudy Dunton of Hampden,
daughter Diane Goode of North Dakota, son Eben Dickinson,
Jr., of Georgia, and daughter Merilyn Leman of Washington.
Also four grandchildren.
He will also be sadly missed by his special friends,
the Edson family of Gray.
A Remembrance Time will be held 10 a.m. Friday at
Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Road, Gray. Arrangements
under the care of Wilson Funeral Home, Gray.
