New Gloucester growing, citizens to determine direction

New Gloucester is growing and growing fast. Housing units have increased 39% since 1990, Cumberland County, only 12% in that same time. 141 housing units were added in the last four years, and the employment base has more than tripled in the last 15 years. ... more

Council backs library expansion
Trustees concerned

Gray--At Monday's meeting, Vice-Chair Andy Upham presented information to his peers on the Council regarding the proposed library expansion. The Library Director, Trustees, and Gray Public Library Association, which is a non-profit corporation separate from the Town, all have advocated for more space at the library, citing heavy use and space needs. ... more

Gray's regulatory quagmire
All Towns have regulatory processes, but in Gray it seems that once you enter the regulatory quagmire, you can never leave. As a result of the concerns expressed by the CEDC, and also concerns expressed by businesses and developers, the Town Council has begun querying people who have had experiences with Gray's processes. Council more customer conscious

At Gray's meeting Monday night, the Council thanked the Cable Committee for televising it. Monday nights were termed workshops, but business was conducted and though no votes taken, much business decided, making the workshops not much different in effect than regular meetings. ... more

Whatever happened to…
Gray's Traffic Officer's duties?

Anyone who has traveled up Shaker Road during the commute times between 7-8:30 a.m. knows that the traffic backs up from Gray Corner past the Turnpike bridge and impacts the Libby Hill Road intersection. Not only business commuters travel at that time, but the MSAD 15 school busses have to make a turn into Libby Hill Road to deliver High School and Middle School children. ... more
