Ask The Monument

A citizen wanted to know of the rumor was true or not: Is the Wilson5 Cleaning company withdrawing from their service contract to clean the schools? We asked SAD 125 Director of Finance and Operations Terry Towle.

Mr. Towle: We are not aware that Wilson 5 are withdrawing their services at this time. We have been meeting with them recently in an attempt to express our concerns regarding the quantity of their work in the 3 elementary schools and to help them to improve. although the quality of their work may be an issue in some circumstances it appears that the quantity is more of an issue as they are not completing all of the required daily cleaning tasks at each of the elementary schools. We met with them on the 24th of January and will meet again on the 15th of February. The main issue, in our opinion, is that they do not have sufficient daily staffing hours allocated to the schools which are needed to perform as outlined in the specifications and contractual commitment.
We are currently advertising for custodial staff, in the event that they are not able to meet their obligation, but at this time we are interested in improvement on their part and a continued relationship.
