Fire-Rescue asks for $10,000
Planning a Fall festival
Gray--To celebrate 125 years of "protecting the
safety of Gray citizens, Gray Fire-Rescue has asked
the Town of Gray to chip in $10,000 toward their Celebration
Day, expected to cost $50,000. more
New Gloucester Budget down
Public hearing Monday, March 28
New Gloucester--On Monday, March 28 the New Gloucester
Selectmen will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. to
discuss their Fiscal year 2005-06 municipal budget.
Both Gray and New Gloucester, the two towns that make
up the School Administrative District, as well as
the SAD itself, have been developing their budgets.

Do
we need art?
The Monument asks locals what they think
Taking
advantage of the beautiful Monday afternoon sun on
the first full day of spring, we polled the lunchtime
crowd as they left Cole Farms in Gray. The Monument
Newspaper put forward these two questions to the man
on the street: Do we need art? Why or why not? The
answers came from residents in several area towns.

'Tis
the season, the election season. Of the terms that
are up for Gray Town Council, Gray Water District,
New Gloucester Selectmen, and Gray and New Gloucester
seats on the SAD 15 School Board of Directors: here's
the lowdown so far, as of Thursday, March 24: more
Russell School Science Fair
Grade K-2 Russell School held its Annual Science Fair
last Saturday, and it was one of the biggest ever.
With thirty-five projects examining a variety of subjects,
the teachers, volunteers, evaluators and especially
Principal Dan Joseph declared it an unqualified success.
It was a lot of fun, too. more
