Did you know this about MSAD #15's 05-06 Budget?
By Victoria Burns, Superintendent

During the past week, a citizen asked me a question about the new Essential Programs and Services Funding formula that the state is using to allocate school subsidy funds for the 05-06 budget. Specifically, the citizen wanted to know how much of the increased subsidy was used by the school in the 05-06 budget and how much was being returned to the citizens of Gray and New Gloucester to reduce the assessment for schools.

MSAD #15 will receive $1,677,149 in total additional state dollars (subsidy) in 2005-2006. MDAD #15 is reducing its assessment by $945,467 or 56.37% of the new dollar amount.

The Town of Gray's share of the $1,677,149 is 67% or $1,123,690.

The Town of New Gloucester's share of the $1,677,149 is 33% or $553,460.

MSAD #15 is reducing the Town of Gray's assessment by $583,762 or 51.95 % of the Town of Gray's share of the new dollars.

MSAD #15 is reducing the Town of New Gloucester's assessment by $361,705 or 65.35% of New Gloucester's share of the new dollars.

If you have any questions regarding MSAD #15's budget, please give me a call at 657-3335. Your opportunity to vote on the school budget is June 14, 2005.
