Military Extravaganza Features
Civilian Aerobatic Performers, Warbirds, Parachutists,
Motorcycle Stunt Jumping and a Jet Truck
September 10th and 11th

For the first time in six years, NAS Brunswick will host the Great State of Maine Air Show on Saturday and Sunday, September 10th and 11th. The largest air show in northern New England will feature the Navy Flight Demonstration Team "Blue Angels" and ten military and civilian aerobatic acts, and promises to be "free" fun and entertainment for the entire family.

Over 25 military and civilian aircraft will be on ground display, along with Army and National Guard military vehicles, weapons and hardware.
Flying acts will include a World War II P-51 "Mustang" flying alongside an Air Force F-16 fighter, the U.S. Special Operations Command Parachute Team, three world-class civilian aerobatic pilots and a Jet-Assisted Take-Off by the huge Blue Angels C-130 "Hercules" transport plane "Fat Albert."

Ground acts will feature Les Shockley and his jet-powered truck that races an airplane down the runway at speeds approaching 300 mph, and the World Stunts FMX Tour "Freestyle Motocross" with wild riding and jumping by some of America's top motorcycle riders. Also on the ground will be special acts and areas for children, a Community Expo with many aviation-related organizations and over 30 vendor tents with a wide variety of food, beverages and souvenirs. One large hangar will feature a Maine Products and Services Trade Show with exhibits by dozens of Maine companies.

On Sunday afternoon, immediately following the air show at approximately 4:00 pm, the nationally-famous country and western singers, the Bellamy Brothers, will perform in a free outdoor concert.

Parking and admission for both days is "Free." Gates open at 8:00 a.m., flying begins at 10 a.m. and continues throughout the day. An all-day reserved seating area is available on a first-come, first-served basis for $5 per person. As a result of increased security precautions, all persons are subject to screening and all bags and items will be searched. For more information, visit www.greatstateofmaineairshow.com
