Ex-locals lost everything to Katrina
By Kimberly LaDouceur

Terri Anderson (formerly Robinson and Foss) and her husband Ken have recently lost everything they own to Hurricane Katrina. Many of you may know Terri because she attended Gray / New Gloucester high school and worked for Pineland Center for many years before moving to Pascagoula Mississippi several years ago. Her sister, Linda LaDouceur and brother, Richard Robinson both currently reside in Gray.

The wedding picture has a young girl named Joanna in the back row (second from left.) Her father, Russell Foss also went to school in Gray and still has family here.

The hurricane was forcasted to head west toward Louisiana and Pascagoula was only supposed to get some strong winds and rain. Katrina ended up turning east and wiping out many towns in Mississippi including Pascagoula.

Terri also has a daughter named Kiersten who lives in Gulfport, Mississippi with her husband and two children. They are without power like most everyone in Mississippi but amazingly, their house remained intact.
The news on August 31st was that thankfully, Terri & Ken did make it through the storm but their house and all of their belongings are a complete loss.

They survived the storm by sitting on a cooler that was placed on top of their stove in the kitchen. Their feet were left to dangle in the rising water.

At this point we don't know where they are staying or if they're still okay because there is just no way of communicating with them. Terri's daughter Heidi who lives in Missouri has her in laws and some other people from the church she attends going to Mississippi to try and get all; of them out. It will be very difficult because nobody is certain where Terri & Ken are at this point. Heidi is trying to get word to Terri to make a sign with their names on it so that they might be found a little easier when help arrives. She also wants Terri to dial 911 if possible to make it known that she needs to be rescued.

Terri has also just recently completed chemotherapy & radiation treatments for breast cancer.

Wedding picture shows Terri & Ken, his son Ian and Terri's granddaughter Meredith.

If you can donate any amount to help them get their lives together after this tragedy, it would be greatly appreciated. Cards and well wishes are certainly also welcome. Please send to:
