SAD 15 Bus Inspection results

On the first day of school there was a regularly scheduled inspection of all school buses conducted by Maine State Police. The results, provided by SAD 15 (Gray and New Gloucester) Finance and Operations Director Terry Towle, are below. The notes include the year of the bus and the miles on it.
Mr. Towle explained that a new rule has been instituted, that all brooms must be secured. Bus Drivers sweep and clean their buses after each run. Drivers had been storing their brooms behind the bus driver seat, but the new rule requires a more secure location and method for storing the brooms. Most of the citiations were of this minor nature, related to the brooms's storage, and not of more serious incidents, Mr. Towle said.

Bus #1 (1997 with 145,176 miles) secure broom and trash can.

Bus #3 (1998 with 104,847 miles) right fan, loose left rear shock, check front u-joint.

#4 (2004 with 40,843 miles) secure broom, adjust brakes.

Bus #5 (2000 with 72,303 miles) secure broom, side window moisture.

Bus #6 (2000 with 130,304 miles) one heater out, right tail light, check front brakes, battery loose, rear slack adjuster pin, check front engine crossmember bolts.

Bus #7 (1996 with 155,916 miles) right rear spring bushing bolt, low air buzzer, air leak in front, right rear tail light, secure trash can, panel, window switch.

Bus #8 (1995 with 173,396 miles) secure broom and trash can.

Bus #9 (1999 with 88,549 miles) left front slack adjuster, oil leak.

Bus #10 (2002 with 74,523 miles) tail pipe, adjust brakes.

Bus #11 (1988 with 215,704 miles) step light, front air hoses, right front seat back
Bus #15 (2002 with 45,520 miles) fix left headlight.

Bus #18 (2004 with 31,898 miles) exhaust leak by muffler, secure trash can and broom.

Bus #19 (2004 with 33,294 miles) defrost switch, antifreeze leak.

Bus #21 (1994 with 162,593 miles) secure broom.

Bus #25 (1990 with 207,829 miles) loose seats, air dryer leaking, tie rod ends, heater switches.

Bus #29 (1990 with 170,948 miles) loose seats, secure broom, check right windshield, seat belts? frame?, crosssmember behind rear wheel.

Bus #30 (1988 with 233,347 miles) fuel leak, oil leak on exhaust, center rear clearance, loose front mirror, mud flap, right rear wheel crossmember.

Bus #31 (1991 with 215,704 miles)left front jam nut, one heater, loose seats, rear crossmember rust.

Bus #32 (1993 with 227,281 miles) loose exhaust clamp, rust crossmember, secure broom, rear lens-hole, step light, right directional, loose seats.
