Patriots Football season ends

Above, MS v. Yarmouth- #40 Brent Maurice just gets off the punt.

All three Patriot football teams wound up the season on a high note. On Saturday, October 29, the Varsity Patriots took on the Poland Varsity Knights in Poland. The Patriots were missing several key players due to injury, including their starting quarterback Sam Christy, but GNG and Poland seemed evenly matched and the score was close up until the last few minutes of the game. The final score was Poland 13, Patriots 0. Although the Varsity team didn't win any games this season, their young players gained valuable experience and look forward to using their improved skills in the 2006 season. On Monday, October 31, the Junior Varsity Patriots played Poland's Junior Varsity Knights. The Patriots dominated the game, and won with a final score of 16 to 0. The Junior Varsity team ended the season with a record of 2 wins, 5 losses, and 1 tie. The Middle School Patriots won their last two games of the season, ending with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses. On October 27, the Middle School Patriots beat the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls by a score of 20 to 12. The GNG touchdowns were scored by Nate Rowe (2) and Taylor Valente. On November 3, the Middle School Patriots beat the Yarmouth Clippers by a score of 14 to 6. Both GNG touchdowns were scored by Fred Reed.
