Gray Revenue Chart- 8 year history

Broadly categorized, town funds come from taxes, State and Federal sources, fees charged for services, interest, and small miscellaneous sources. Gray has historically underestimated non-tax revenues.

Generally, if non-tax revenues are underestimated then tax revenues must be overestimated. The tax rate will consequently be higher than it would be if revenues had been accurately estimated.

The auditor's report of August 2001 disclosed this situation and recommended that Gray "... adopt a more aggressive budgeting of revenues," and stated that "The Town of Gray's equity is sufficient and further increases to fund equity may not be justified."

In fiscal 2004, the last year for which data is available, Gray underestimated revenues by $611,151.
