Businesses connecting with kids

Gray - Golf Pro Jim Mita, owner of Tee-em-Up Golf Center in Gray hosted GNG Middle School students on Friday. The kids all paid $5, got unlimited balls and a beverage. PE Teachers Melanie Craig and Dale Sanders partnered with the local business to offer students the opportunity to experience golf as an example of sports that offer lifetime fitness. "It's important to stay healthy and be active and this is a local resource for that," said Craig. In welcoming the students, Mita said that, "Golf is the game of life" and later remarked that "The kids are the future of everything. Part of being a pro is stimulating interest in the game." In addition to offering the school program on Friday, June 17, Mita is inviting the students to take advantage of a special program starting in two weeks: Junior Golf Clinics: For $40, students receive 4 one hour lessons over 4 weeks. Mita said that the usual cost of a 1/2 hour lesson is $40, so this is a great opportunity for the kids to come out and play.

The Gray Business community turned out in force to support Gray Chiropractic's ribbon cutting, sponsored by the Gray Business Association. The newest commercial building in town, newly constructed by owneers Drs. Chris and Fran Dombrowski and partner John Couture of State Farm insurance, the building represents an expansion for both businesses. Gray Chiropractic offers a variety of services. More information can be found at their website at http://www.graychiro.com

The ribbon cutting was ceremoniously completed after a social hour featuring soft drinks, festive sandwich wraps and good conversation. There were a few remarks from Town Manager Mitchell A.
