Pine Tree Networks helps out

Above and Below, PTN volunteers:
Cliff Andrews of the New Gloucester Fairgrounds Committee, said that four people from the Pine Tree Networks office worked on July 27 to start restoration of the old Exhibition Hall at the Fairgrounds in New Gloucester as part of the Pine Tree Networks Community Outreach. "It was very dirty work on a very hot day!," Cliff said. Robert J. Souza, president Pine Tree Networks said that Pine Tree Networks is committed to the communities they serve and it was especially good to have a project that directly benefited the townspeople of New Gloucester. The volunteer crew, which also consisted of community members and Fairgrounds Committee volunteers Dave Lunt and Scott Doyle, moved many items out (mostly trash), removed many stalls of horse manure, removed tons of old hay from the hay loft, started tearing down the old stalls, and completely swept all floors. Cliff said that the Committee is especially grateful to Pine Tree Networks Outreach volunteers Donna Wermenchuk, Jean Stilphen, Heather Albert and Scott Harlow.

Revolutionary War Encampment in Thomaston
The General Henry Knox Museum in Thomaston hosts a Revolutionary Encampment on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Several Units from New England will attend. Fifty dedicated "re-enactors" will pitch their tents, chop wood, light campfires and load and shoot muskets just as our ancestors did in a typical military camp of the late 1700's. Visitors entering the camp discover many authentic details of 18th century life.
