Lemon-Aid
For Katrina victims

Lemon-Aid for Katrina victims
From Skip Crane

Gray--Although we try to shield our daughter from the "bad" news because of her age, it has been tough for her not to see some of the heart breaking suffering and loss along the Gulf Coast as she travels past the living room TV. "What's wrong with them Daddy" as she questioned when saw people breaking down hugging their children.

After pulling her aside and explaining, in a simple way she could understand, what had happened and telling her Mommy and Daddy were going to send money to help them. "What can I do to help" she questions again. Now there's not much a 5 year old can do but we were having a Labor Day yard sale and as usual she was going to set up her lemonade stand. We told her any money collected to go to help someone too. Now the $3.50 she collected isn't much money, but we will add more to it and send it on to one of the relief agencies.

In the picture it's a lemon and the word aid, Lemon-Aid 05 we called it. A wonderful lesson for her and all of us about helping in any little way we can.

Skip, Marcy, and Daniella
