Below, Hannah Wurgler, sophomore participant with the "Wizard of Oz" float. Hannah was leading her horse Brody, who was posing as the "Horse of a Different Color." The Sophomores earned a special award for creativity for their rendition of the characters from the Wizard of Oz.

Below, Campbell Macomber, age 4, picks up his candy bonanza from the pavement, where passing Homecoming Float passengers had flung them. Campbell quickly filled his backpack and was well pleased with his haul, "This is the second year he's really cleaned up on candy," his grandfather explained.

Waiting for the parade to start. Do you notice they are all doing different things? Such energy.

The Homecoming parade was at noon, and lasted about half an hour with two turns round the property. The wait-time for judging was about a half hour, and by 1:00 it was all over. The hard work, planning, choosing the movie theme, making costumes and floats…all done and history. By 1:10 the Freshman float was being disassembled and recycled here at the Gray Transfer Station, with Oompa Loompa still in face paint. Floats are as fleeting as youth, I guess.
