The Town Council will meet with the department heads for a budget workshop on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Stimson Hall from 8 a.m. Until all dept. Budgets have been reviewed.

The Gray Town Office will be closed on Monday, January 16, 2006 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Effective immediately, no building permits will be issued from the Code office without first notifying dig safe at the following number 1-888-344-7233. When calling Digsafe be ready to give important information as follows: city/town, street/road, location description, extent and type of work, contact person and phone number and the excavator/company name and phone number. Must give Digsafe at least three business days - but no more than 30 calendar days before starting work. You may request a copy of the PUC's property owners fact sheet by calling puc 1-800-452-4699 or by visiting www.state.me.us/mpuc.

The Town of Gray is accepting applications from persons who would be interested in serving on the Village Master Plan Advisory Committee for the study of downtown Gray. Applications will be accepted until the Town Council makes a final decision. Appointments to the Committee will be made by the Council. Instead of a regular Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) meeting, there will be a ZBA Workshop at 7 p.m. on January 19, 2006.

Winter Parking:
From November 15th to April 15th, between the hours of 12 midnight and 6 a.m., no vehicle shall be parked at any time on a public way, public street or within a town-owned parking lot, due to snow removal. Vehicles in violation of the ordinance (Section 502.3) will be towed at the owner's expense.

Preliminary Engineering & Design, New Fire Station

The Town of New Gloucester, Maine is requesting preliminary engineering/architectural design services for a new fire station.

Copies of the Request for Proposals may be obtained at the New Gloucester Town Hall, P.O. Box 82, 385 Intervale Road, New Gloucester, Maine, 04260, or via email to rkulow@newgloucester.com. Proposals must be submitted to the Town Manager in a sealed envelope clearly marked, "Fire Station Preliminary Engineering" by 6 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2006. Bids will be opened and read at a Board of Selectmen's meeting at 7:00 p.m., February 6, 2006.

The Town of New Gloucester reserves the right to reject any or all proposals as it alone may deem in its best interest.

Attention All Parents of Children Entering Kindergarten In September 2006
It is time to start our Pre-registration process. We are asking all parents of children that will be 5, on or before October 15, 2006 to call the school in the town in which they live, and register their child for Kindergarten. This will allow us to begin the formal process of registering your child. If you live in Gray please call Connie Holand at Russell School 657-4929.
