Gray Village Master Plan Committee
Convenes First Public Forum

The first Public Forum for the Gray Village Master Plan will be held on Wednesday, March 8 from 6 to 8:30 p.m, location to be announced. The impetus for this six month study is a successful Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for the Town of Gray and the proposed Gray Connector Road being constructed by the Maine DOT and the Maine Turnpike Authority. The proposed Gray Connector will have a profound and lasting impact on the future of the downtown. The Gray Village Master Plan will help Gray Officials plan for future development and balance the mix of residential, commercial, institutional, and civic uses. The completed plan will serve to facilitate and guide future public policy decisions. Committee members include representatives from the business community. The study is being conducted by the Greater Portland Council of Governments supported by town staff.

Homestead Exemption forms are available on-line under the www.graymaine.org website. From the home page, go to application & forms, tax exemption forms, and then open Homestead Exemption. If you do not have access to the web, come by the town office or ask one to be mailed.
If you qualify, please make sure you have it signed and back to the town assessor, by April 1, 2006. If you have homestead exemption already, you do not have to sign up again. If you need to check or have any questions, please feel free to contact Ronna or Helen at the Gray Town office at 657-3112.

Applications will be accepted until the Town Council makes a final decision. Appointments to the Committee will be made by the Council. Winter Parking:
From November 15th to April 15th, between the hours of 12 midnight and 6 a.m., no vehicle shall be parked at any time on a public way, public street or within a town-owned parking lot, due to snow removal. Vehicles in violation of the ordinance (Section 502.3) will be towed at the owner's expense.

SAD 15 News and Notices

Annual Notification of Asbestos-Containing Building Materials

MSAD #15 - Gray/New Gloucester has inspected all school buildings for the presence of suspect asbestos-containing building materials in accordance with the ASBESTOS Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) EPA 40 CFR 763. A written plan for the management of these materials has been maintained by Environmental Safety & Hygiene Associates Inc. of Westbrook, ME.

The AHERA Management Plan is available for inspection by the general public at the Superintendent's Office. The plans may be inspected during normal office hours, and appointment should be made. Copies of the plans can be provided at a cost of 10 cents per page.

The Management Plan is a guidance document outlining operational procedures designed for the proper maintenance and safety of all people who work, study, or are otherwise present in any of the following facilities:

The materials are inspected for change in condition during six-month periodic surveillance's conducted every January and June. Any questions or concerns should be addressed to Mr. Doug Driesen, Facilities Manger at 207-657-9480.
