Please be advised that Blackstone Consultants of York, Maine on behalf of Pamela Cole, P. O. Town of Gray Notice
Subdivision Fire Suppression Systems are optional

Effective March 7, 2006, the Gray Town Council enacted Order #77, a subdivision ordinance amendment whereby home sprinkler systems and fire cistern tanks are clearly not required for subdivision approval through the Planning Board application and approval process. Provision and installation of these devices or systems is specifically at the full discretion of the applicant. No member of the Gray Planning Board can deny an application because the applicant does not install home sprinklers or fire cisterns. Any reference to the contrary should be brought to the immediate attention of the Gray Town Council.

Town of Gray Employment Opportunity: Library Director

The Town of Gray, Maine is seeking a highly qualified person for the position of Library Director. The Town of Gray has a population of approximately 7,500 and the library serves a diverse community of people.
The Town of Gray is seeking a Library Director who will adhere to the mission and goals of the Gray Public Library and is familiar with the Maine Library Association's Public Library Standards. The ideal candidate must have a Masters in Library Science (MLS) or Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS); at least two years of public library experience with supervisory experience; knowledge of current library practices including cataloging and collection development; and the ability to establish a warm and friendly atmosphere for all, including staff.

A letter of application must accompany an up-to-date résumé, along with three references. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Review of the applications will commence by May 22, 2006. The Town of Gray is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Code Enforcement Officer Town of Gray

The Town of Gray is seeking qualified and experienced applicants for the position of Code Enforcement Officer / Health Officer. The successful candidate will have a blend of the necessary licenses and certifications or be close to possessing those; demonstrated experience in the construction industry and in code enforcement; bring leadership and energy to a growing community. LPI, Electrical, Plumbing, Shoreland Zone, Septic Systems, Structural, 80K and health are the areas within which this person shall head the Code Office.

This key individual will interface with citizens and developers through preliminary discussions, on site inspections and provide the necessary guidance, information and actions to achieve the division's goals. The DPW reports to the Town Manager and is responsible for the effective management of Public Works Department planning, operations, and resource management, including 8+ employees, 75 miles of roads, buildings, equipment, and transfer station.
