get a taste of what winter driving used to be like.

Card of Thanks
Food
Drive Thanks
Shaw's
annual food drive, the 2005 Spirit of Giving Food
Drive, for the first year included 211 Shaw's stores
in all 6 New England States. From November 29th through
December 16th, customers were invited to purchase
a pre-assembled grocery bag of food, valued at $5,
$10, or $15. The bags contained products that food
bank's reported to be the most needed items and were
then delivered to various food banks throughout New
England. Good Shepherd Food-Bank in Auburn, Maine
received 70 bins filled with bags of food, a total
weight of 23,833 pounds. In total, Shaw's collected
1090 bins filled with bags, equaling 388,072 pounds.
Good Shepherd Food-Bank would like to extend their
grateful appreciation of Shaw's and customer's support
during this critical time. Serving more than 540 non-profit
agencies and feeding approximately 70,000 people each
month statewide, the Food-Bank is one of Maine's largest
social service organizations. The donation is estimated
to provide nearly 16,000 meals to hungry people through
partner agencies which include homeless shelters,
soup kitchens, food pantries, and other groups serving
families, children, and the elderly in every community
in the state.
Royal
River Riders say thank you
We
want to thank all the people who supported our Annual
Christmas Tree Sales this year. A special thank you
to Roger Lund for the donation of his time and the
use of his truck to transport the trees and to International
Paper for the donation of a trailer to haul and store
the trees. With the sales this year we will be able
to increase our two scholarships we present to a Gray-New
Gloucester High School student. Again Thank You All.
Royal River Riders, New Gloucester.
