year for the second year the Annual January Blood
Drive for the Gray- New Gloucester communities will
be held at Spring Meadow on Route 100 across from
Cole Farms, January 30th from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Please
call Cheryll Gray 657- 2248 or Karen Taylor 657-4783
for appointments. We could use some people to help
the day of the drive and also for making calls for
appointments. Please remember the month of January
after the Holidays and many accidents leaves the Red
Cross short of Blood. Please also remember all your
relatives and friends who may have cancer and need
your blood. All it takes is a few minutes of your
time and you 'Give The Gift Of Life' for someone else.
After some twenty years we would like to find a new
group to take over the January Drive. If your group
or organization are interested please feel free to
give us a call.

Lake Grange will have Chicken Pies for sale on Saturday,
January 28th. To order, call Pam Dyer, 657-4612 by
Wednesday, January 25th. Price is $7 each or 2 for
$12. Pick up between 10 a.m. and noon on the 28th
at the Grange Hall on the old Rte 26 in New Gloucester.
Gray
Extension to meet
The
Gray Extension will meet on Wednesday, February 1,
at the Congregational Church Parish House on Brown
start at 10:00 a.m. Bring your favorite craft and
instruction to share with others. Those who can stay
after the meeting should bring on "brown bag"
lunch. Also, remember to bring something for our "white
elephant" table. Visitors and new members are
always welcome.

Tree Post Card Club
The
January meeting of the Pine Tree Post Card Club was
not held at the usual first Monday of the month. Weather
permitting, we expect to meet on Monday, Feb. 6. 2006
at Cole Farms, upstairs, over the counter area, from
6-7:30 p.m. All are welcome.
Sleigh
Rally!
Skyline
Farm's annual sleigh rally, driving demonstration
and competition is scheduled for Saturday, February
11th (raindate 12th) from 12 - 3. In addition to the
Sleigh Rally, Skyline Farm is pleased to announce
the opening of their newly constructed Carriage Museum
and Visitors' Center featuring their first museum
exhibit "Sleighing through Time."
There's something for everyone, the Museum will be
open, refreshments are available, and there will be
sleigh rides available for an additional fee. It's
a fun opportunity for all of us to get out of the
house on a winter's day get a taste of what winter
driving used to be like. Admission is $5 per person
and includes admission to the museum exhibit. The
museum exhibit will also be open to the public February
11, 18, & 26 and March 5, 11, 19, and 26th for

A Foster Grandparent can help improve the lives of
children with special needs while having a great time
and earning a little extra money. Foster Grandparents
benefit children in schools, day care centers and
in homes by sharing their knowledge and skills. In
return qualified seniors receive a nontaxable stipend,
liability insurance, paid vacations and sick leave,
holidays, assistance with meals and travel, annual
physical, supervision and training.
Typical assignments may include helping students in
the classroom help with their reading and writing
in a caring and patient way, assisting 3-5 years old
make the transition from home to child care by being
a positive, loving presence in the child development
center's classroom or visit families to play and read
with children or hold babies while providing support
and companionship to parents.

Seeking
Contestants for the 2006 Miss Maine National Teenager
Pageant
If you are a teenage girl between the ages of 12 and
18 you might qualify for the 2006 Miss Maine National
Teenager Pageant. Contestants compete in Interview,
Personal Expression, and Evening Gown competitions.
In addition, judges will score each contestant on
their academic achievements and school/community involvement.
State queens will be chosen in two age divisions;
Junior, 12-15 and Senior, 16-18. They will go on to
on to represent our state in the America's National
Teenager Pageant in Nashville, Tennessee in July,
where they will be have the opportunity to compete
for prize packages worth up to $35,000.
In addition, contestants can choose to compete in
talent, essay or modeling competitions. At the state
level alone, more than $50,000 in tuition scholarships
will be given out to contestants.
This year's state pageant will be held April 29 &
30, with the final show on Sunday at Hermon High School.

Patriot Soccer Club's Annual Meeting
The
public is invited to attend the Annual General Meeting
of the Patriot Soccer Club on Wednesday, February
1, 2005 at 6:30 PM. The meeting will be held at the
Androscoggin Bank in Gray. The primary purpose of
the annual meeting is to nominate and elect officers
for the 2006 season.
The success of the Patriot Soccer Club is a direct
result of the dedication of its volunteers, and the
club is seeking candidates for the following positions:
President, Vice-President, Director of Coaching, Director
of Player Development, Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator,
Director of Communications, Club Registrar, and Director(s)
at Large.
Each officer is elected for a one-year term and serves
as a member of the Club's executive committee. For
