Hebron Academy's Sean Morey '95 Wins Super Bowl
Pittsburgh Steelers Special Teams Captain gets his First Ring

February 5, 2006 (Hebron, ME) - Pittsburgh Steelers' Special Teams Captain Sean Morey, a 1995 graduate of Hebron Academy, won his first Super Bowl tonight, as the Steelers triumphed over the Seattle Seahawks, 21-10.

Morey is one of Hebron's all-time most celebrated athletes. In the 1994 season, he was named to the All-Evergreen League Team, was Evergreen League MVP, on the All-New England Pre-Class D Team, and was Class D New England Player of the Year. That year, the Hebron Lumberjacks were undefeated Evergreen League Champions. The 1994 team also went on to win the New England Prep School Class D Championship.

Morey went on to play at Brown University, where he was named Ivy League Player of the Year in 1997.

Former Hebron classmate and teammate Jeb Fisher, now a producer and reporter for CN8 Sports Pulse on the Comcast Network, said, "With all due respect to dozens of others…Sean was probably the best athlete to ever wear the green and white. He's an even better guy."

Morey's coach was "Moose" Curtis, who led the Hebron football team to an undefeated regular season and an Evergreen League Championship again this year. Morey was one of many well wishers sending messages to Curtis this past fall.

All week, Hebron faculty, staff, students, and alumni have been anxiously awaiting Morey's appearance in the Super Bowl. The school community is proud of Sean and congratulates him on this win.

Hebron Academy, founded in 1804, is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school located about an hour from Portland, Maine. The Academy's mission is to inspire and guide students to reach their highest potential in mind, body, and spirit. Two hundred-fifty students from New England, the United States, and the world attend grades six through postgraduate.
