Missionary to speak
Please Join Us In Welcoming Marilyn Laszlo
To the New Gloucester Bible Church , Rte 100 , New Gloucester, Maine, Saturday, June 3rd at 1 p.m. Marilyn will be speaking of her years spent in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, her trials and triumphs as a missionary in the field.

"On the island of Papua New Guinea there are over 700 languages - languages that are unwritten. Can you imagine never having seen your language written? Try to picture English as only a spoken language. How different our lives would be. It would mean, for one thing, that you would not have one single verse,of the Bible. That's the way it is with many of these language groups in Papua New Guinea. Actually, there are over 3,000 language groups in the world that have no written language. They have no alphabet - no books."

"That's the way it was in Hauna village - with the Sepik Iwam people. They have no idea that the words that come out of their mouths could be written down."

"I remember trying to get the word for tree. I was pointing to a tree and trying to get them to say the word for 'tree'. Finally they said, "Ana." So I wrote 'ana' (tree). My first word in the dictionary! Later, as I went around the village practicing the words I had collected, I pointed to a tree and said, "Ana." They shook their heads and laughed. Something was wrong. Later I discovered that 'ana' was the word for finger.

My locker is yelling at me
By Isaiah Lambert

My locker is yelling at me
Make me squeaky clean
My locker is yelling at me
Do your math homework 5X3
My locker is yelling at me
My locker is like a nagging mom
My locker is yelling at me
Stop walking around and get to class

The Farm

The farm it's bad
It stinks
You feel like no one wants you
It is a living hell

Good Ol' Fish Stories
By: l<3V
Good Ol' fishin' times
On a bright beautiful calm sunny day
The lake so quiet and peaceful,
It helps me relax
Cause I'm stressful,
But as I go to my fishing spot,
I just pull up my seat,
Kick back and relax,
While I await my fish,
I just sit and think,
About all the good times while I fish
Then I start to reel and,
……BAM!
There's my fish

Skating
By Anonymous

Ohhh…God when is school gonna end.
I can't wait till the bell rings.
I'm gonna go across the street and skate so hard.
I hope someone shows up
I hate skating by myself.
The school bell rings
I'm out of here
Skate skate skate
That's all that's going on in my head
I go to the court yard and skate a little
But no one's there
I see a bench and decide to pull a krooxed grind of it
I ollie up to do the trick and I fall really hard
It hurt but I got back up and did it again
This time I landed it
It was hard as tryin' to wrestle a bull
But I landed it and had a great time
Even though no one showed up.

In the summer I go riding.
I start up my dirt bike
The sound is just beautiful.
I have a two stroke so it is loud
And it digs up the road
But I don't try.
So they get mad
Because
They don't like it when the road is dug up.
I don't mind because I'm just having fun.
I love to make names for my bikes
So for this one
I just might name it…
